The customer is a very big distributor in Iran who supply imported materials to government bid and tender.The end side use 309 stainless steel plate in boilers Building,so 309 stainless steel is their best choice,as 309 ss is kind of steel with Corrosion resistance, high temperature performance by 980 degree resistance.
The difference between AISI309 and AISI309S is mainly at contact of Carbon element.In 309,it has 0.2% max.carbon however in 309S,carbon content is 0,08% max,that is the obvious different in chemical composition between 309 and 309S.Regarding our contract with Iran buyer,they only ask for 309,not 309S,as higher carbon is needed that shall have a good forming and machining function.We did smelting from VOD furnace,so 309 grade is surely guaranteed,as we can get a higher carbon in such high alloy steel with 12% to 15% Nickle and 22% to 24% Cr.
Besides,customer appoints TPI inspection to carry for series of inspection for the 309 stainless steel sheets on its chemical composition,tensile strength,yield strength,elogation,crack testing,flatness and slit edge etc.Now the order is still being production,if any buyer,old and new,who is interested in purchasing 309 ss plate,pls advise us,we can send samples free of charge.
