Turkey August stainless steel flat bar imports up by 70%
According to the data provided by the Jaway steel's Turkish Statistical Institute, in August this year, Turkey's stainless steel flat bar imports saw an increase of 70% as compared to August last year, amounting to 41,889 metric tonnes. This figure indicates a slight month on month drop of 1.28%.
Meanwhile, Turkey's stainless flat steel import value in August this year was USD 96.2 million, down 4.1 compared to July, but up 47.4% compared to August 2012.
In August this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports from Italy totaled 9.550 tonne, while Taiwan exported 7,483 tonne of stainless flat steel to Turkey.
In first eight months of this year, Turkey imported 309,113 tonne of stainless flat steel, up 25.6% year on year.
