ASTM 440C stainless steel plate has the highest hardness in all stainless steel and heat resistant steel. Its disadvantage is that the viscosity is relatively large and it is heating up very quickly. 440C annealing temperature is very low, the recommended hardness is HRC57-59 when used as tools and bearings, and if cryogenic treatment, hardness can reach HRC60, at this time its’ corrosion resistance and toughness become very strong, and it is more widely used in hand knives and high-quality factory knives.
