316l stainless steel properties

316l stainless steel is the most commonly used stainless steel material.Its chemical composition(%):C≤0.03 Si≤1.0 Mn≤2.00 P≤0.045 S≤0.030 Ni:10.0-14.0 Cr:16.0-18.0 Mo:2.0-3.0.Heat treatment melting point :1375~1450C. Solid solution treatment :1010~1150C.Mechanical properties of 316L stainless steel: tensile strength (Mpa) 485min Yield strength (Mpa) 170min elongation rate (%) 30min area reduction (%) 40min density 7.98g/cm3 of 316L stainless steel, hardness of HRB<90 HV<200 HBS<187.

Due to the addition of Mo(2-3%),the total performance of 316l stainless steel is better than 310 and 304 stainless steel.316L stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and creep resistance.


316l stainless steel has a wide range of usages.Annealing solid solution state: NO.1, 2b, N0.4,HL and other surface states.316l stainless steel also has good chloride resistance, so it is commonly used in the Marine environment.Corrosion resistance is better than 304 stainless steel, pulp and paper in the production process has a good corrosion resistance. 316l stainless steel is also resistant to Marine and corrosive industrial atmospheres.
